Fifth album from this (apparently) popular power metal band from Romania. The band is fronted by Ana Mladinovici, who has a very nice voice albeit with a slight accent. She doesn't have the range of Tarja - her voice is more along the lines of Sabine Edelsbacher of Edenbridge.

Funny observation...American prog rock fans prefer bands sing in their native tongue....American metal fans are just the opposite - they want to hear English vocals. This is the only explanation that I can think of that Manigance are not huge.

Third album from this Danish band is a futuristic concept album based on the book Hyperion by Dan Simmons. Manticora play mega-fast power metal that mixes US and European styles. At times it has the coarsness of Iced Earth and at other times there is a more produced symphonic feel.

Ol' Leatherlungs Lars is back with his band in tow. Yet another concept album it is - filled with a hi-intensity mix of power, trash and speed. Fasten your seatbelts - this one is stuck in overdrive.

"With their seventh album, has Denmark's Manticora played it Safe? The answer could be somewhat elusive. If this means Manticora continues their efficient blend of melodic, power, and progressive heavy metal, then the answer is a strong affirmative.

Crushing power metal from Denmark sounds like Iced Earth on amphetamines.

"Mahogany Rush wasn't as huge a name in 1970s hard rock/heavy metal as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, or Deep Purple, but the power trio commanded a loyal, good-sized following and provided its share of five-star albums. One of them is this live album, which was recorded during a U.S.

New lineup features ex-Riot vocalist Mike Dimeo as well as Rage drummer Mike Terrana. Surprisingly hook filled and melodic power metal. Not exactly my personal favorite style of metal but well executed. Recommended to the genre faithful.

If Alan Holdsworth joined an insane technical death metal band from Sweden it might sound something like this.

Innovative Danish band who's style of metal is tough to pinpoint. The music has technicality to it and is definitely progressive but there are other elements at play...thrash and industrial as well. It's sort of a cross between Meshuggah and Fear Factory.

Second album from this interesting Danish band incorporating elements of thrash, death and even melodic metal in an usual way. Curiously enough this was created as a binaural recording and should be listened to with headphones. Recommended to fans of Meshuggah and Soilwork.

"Danish pioneers of future fusion metal Mnemic fire off their fifth studio endeavor Mnemesis – a crossover montage of melodic death metal and progressive parts with elements of industrial, thrash and groove thrown in for good measure.

Seventh studio album from this German power metal band. Mob Rules are a first class outfit that pretty much stick to the melodic power metal formula but they add just enough progressive touces to keep a progmetal fan like myself interested.
