Released on the Vertigo label back in 1972, this was essentially a Nucleus album. Its a killer lineup that features Allan Holdsworth on guitar and he makes his presence known. Keyboardist Dave MacRae played in Matching Mole and bassist Roy Babbington moved over the Soft Machine.

"A real masterpiece....dreamy improvised music with eastern influences and electronics!!

"An important pioneering album, which melded jazz rock and blues together, and at the time of its release created something quite new.

I have to admit that until this reissue came out I never heard of this 1977 album before. The original vinyl sells for ridiculous amounts and there never was a CD reissue in the past.

One of the monster fusion albums of the 70s getting a vinyl reissue courtesy of Long Hair Music. This is the second album released by Wolfgang Dauner's Etcetera ensemble. Featured members include Larry Coryell, Gunter Lenz, Jon Hiseman (Colosseum), and Fred Braceful (Exmagma).

The double live album Dark Magus was recorded on March 30, 1974, at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

"Miles’ touted “Fillmore Band” didn’t sound much like a band to me. In an area of music where individual virtuosity is the rule rather than the exception, give-and-take between players becomes all important.

"Along with its sister recording, Pangaea, Agharta was recorded live in February of 1975 at the Osaka Festival Hall in Japan.

Stunning 7 LP box set collects George Duke's best work that he recorded for the MPS label in the mid 70s. Everything has been sourced and cut from the original analogue master tapes (MPS saved all their master tapes). Great sound, pressed in Germany, amazing jazz rock/fusion.

Legit reissue (on Long Hair Music) of the first album from this essential German band. The lineup and overall sound was quite different from the two more familiar albums "Time Machine" and "Electric Silence".

Mind blowing set from this early 70s German jazz rock band culled from the vaults of SWF radio. Dzyan was formed by bassist Reinhard Karwatky but the emerging star was guitarist Eddy Marron. The lineup for these sessions is a quintet consisting of guitar, sax, bass, drums, and percussion.

"Don't be deceived by the Roger Dean-like cover art on this one. German band EILIFF was like no other contemporary band playing progressive music in the early seventies. These recordings were taken from a Cologne radio show called "Nachtmusik" which was aired on Nov. 10, 1972.

1974 debut release from the noted Italian percussionist. Its a surprisingly laid back album but still it commands your attention.

Stunning reissue of the first Et Cetera album, originally released on the Global Music label. Et Cetera sported quite a lineup - Wolfgang Dauner (keyboards), Sigi Schwab (guitar, sitar, flute, etc), Eberhard Weber (bass, cello), Fred Braceful (percussion), and Roland Wittich (percussion).

Long awaited vinyl reissue of this rather obscure and quite rare French jazz rock release from 1978. The French fusion scene was booming then and this fit right in place. Instrumentation throws in the kitchen sink: violin, two guitars, keyboards, sax(s), bass clarinette, bass and drums.

"Originally released by Edigsa in 1972, the sophomore album by this great outfit led by Jordi Sabatés (Ocells del més enllà) took their jazz rock fussion sound one step further, diving deeper into the realms of seventies instrumental jazz.

Beautiful new German jazz rock ensemble with connections to Embryo. The music has elements of Canterbury and psychedelia. When band leader Andreas Kainz hits the organ you'll have flashbacks to National Health. Lots of Fender Rhodes and synths.

Its sometimes interesting to work your way backwards through a band's catalogue to get a different perspective of the progression in sounds.

Fifth album from this incredible instrumental quartet from Munich. Shame it arrived in the last days of 2022 as it would sit high on many "top 10" lists for the year. Regardless it deserves recognition whatever year you want to place it.

Spectrum was the second solo album, and first for the legendary MPS label from the great German guitarist. Kriegel had done a long stint with The Dave Pike Set before he went off on his own. His solo career went on for many years and he also had a long association with EMI Records.

One of the great European jazz-rock/fusion albums reissued from the original master tapes!

"The second instalment from London Odense Ensemble digs deeper into the group's vision of what modern psychedelic jazz should sound like. Cut from the same sessions as Jaiyede Sessions Vol. 1, released last summer, Vol. 2 presents a more nuanced approach to the material.

"Psychedelic improvisational spiritual avant-rock/jazz featuring the legendary Larry Young on organ and equally astounding Joe Gallivan on drums, steel guitar, Moog synth, and percussion; the mysterious Nicholas wailing on guitar synthesizer and ring modulator; and Jimmy Molneiri on drums and pe

Danish/turkish one off from this ensemble led by drummer Atilla Engin. I'm not sure I can draw a valid comparison to any other band but I'll try as its a weird, intoxicating concoction. If Return To Forever wrote music for belly dancing it might sound like this.
