"ALESTORM's lyrical focus on pirates, battles at sea, lusty and busty sea wenches, and general drunken revelry theoretically should not have the endurance that it has shown to have.

"Alestorm is arguably one of the greatest party bands of all time. Of course, we would call them Pirate Metal as most of us probably have all this while. To me, Alestorm remains the epitome of a party music band. The band has a consistent history of throwing absolute bangers one after another.

Overlooked Norwegian symphonic prog from the one man band who went by the name Alf Emil Eik. I guess 1977 wasn't the best of times to be releasing prog albums.

"When Alice in Chains' debut album, Facelift, was released in 1990, about a year before Nirvana's Nevermind, the thriving Seattle scene barely registered on the national musical radar outside of underground circles (although Soundgarden's major-label debut, Louder Than Love, was also released th

"Dispelling rumors of their demise due to Layne Staley's heroin addiction, Alice in Chains is a sonically detailed effort that ranks as their best-produced record, and its best moments are easily some of their most mature music.

"Upon its release, Sap was a revelation, a seemingly tossed-off EP of four mostly acoustic ballads (augmented with a goofy bonus track) that threw Alice in Chains' melodic gifts into stunning relief while exposing a gentler, more melancholy side of their sound, something that Facelift never even

"With Alice in Chains on hiatus by the turn of the 21st century, Columbia Records issued several stop-gap releases to fill up the space -- 1999's greatest-hits collection Nothing Safeand the box set Music Bank, and a year later, their first true live collection, titled simply Live.

"Between the end of 1993 and a performance for MTV Unplugged in the spring of 1996, Alice in Chains performed no concerts -- they didn't even support the release of their eponymous third album with a minor tour.

"What is with Sweden? For some reason, that country produces some of the finest progressive metal in the world. Some of my favorite bands ever originate from that beautiful place. There’s something in the air there, I guess, and it can definitely be detected in the debut from All Things Falle

I'm not the biggest fan of speed metal but this one is surprisingly good. Almah features former Angra lead vocalist Edu Falaschi. The music has good intensity and movement. Lots of hooks, staccato crunch and shredding solos. I'm suprised at how melodic it is.
