Debut release from this band from Turin, Italy is a sci-fi themed concept album. They cite Dream Theater, Haken, Symphony X, and Periphery as influences. Yup - I can hear all of that particularly Dream Theater. Highly recommended.

Dark Green Glow is the debut release from German progressive band Issun. They define themselves as a progressive metal band but truth be told their music seems much more rock than metal with even touces of AOR around the perimeter.

"The Fold is Montreal based Karcius’ fifth release, their current sound forming in the previous album, 2012’s The First Day when they added vocalist and bass player Sylvain Auclair to the band that was previously mainly an instrumental outfit that has been on the scene since 2001.

This is a new project put together by ex-Xystus drummer Ivo van Dijk. Its cut from a similar cloth to that band's Equilibrio album in that its a full blown epic all-star project.

Asbury Park, NJ's finest are back after a long hiatus. I'll more or less repeat what I said about their previous release, The Dreams That Stuff Are Made Of:

"This 2003 release was the first Kayak album I heard since I first discovered symphonic rock a couple of years ago. I heard the title track on Dutch radio station Arrow Rock and I liked it a lot.

"For his second solo studio album, Dave Kerzner maintains the air of melancholy that permeated 2014’s New World. There are plenty of big name guests here, including Steve Hackett, Nick D’Virgilio, and Colin Edwin, but the influence of Pink Floyd looms large over the proceedings.

"REVERB! It’s one of my favorite effects. I’ve tried a few different pedals and played with some built-in amp reverb. With each unique sound, my obsession grows, and I want to collect them all like Pokémon.

Looking Glass Lantern is the nom de guerre for multi-instrumentalist Graham Dunnington. This is his fourth album. Like the previous outings this is full on retro-prog. Musically I'm reminded quite a bit of Steve Hackett's solo work but with an injection of Victorian/steam punk flavor.
$ 9.00$ 15.00 -
Second release from the instrumental classical-shred metal outfit. This one brings back memories of Shrapnel Records days.

This Seattle based prog band was unknown to me until the announcement that they would be a featured artist at Rosfest in 2020. Of course I had to check them out and I was in for a big surprise. This is old school prog right in my wheelhouse.

Seattle based Moon Letters' 2019 debut "Until They Feel The Sun" was a bit of a revelation for us. Three years later the band has released their sophomore album "Thank You From The Future" and its a bit different. While its definitely a prog rock album its a bit less retro sounding.
$10.00 -
Second album from this New York based prog trio. The band is heavily influenced by early period Rush but elements of Yes and Kansas pop up as well. The album highlight is the near 18 minute epic "The Eternal Spring".

Is Nospūn the best band you've never heard of? Probably unless you've been paying attention to all the year end best of 2023 lists. This Georgia based band released their album back in May 2023 digitally and with some gentle arm twisting from the masses they have finally pressed CDs.
