Art Rock
European import HDCD remaster of the second Roxy Music album. Phil Manzanera tears it up on "In Every Dream Home A Heartache". Essential art rock.
Remastered edition of the band's classic 4th album with two bonus tracks. Its a concept album that literally defined classical rock. Sure its pop oriented but the overarching progressive elements are prominent through out. Highly recommended and at 5 bucks a steal.
This was Eno's debut solo album after leaving Roxy Music. Its much more of a rock album compared to later work. Eno had a propensity for accumulating great and interesting musicians,.Guitarists include Robert Fripp, Phil Manzanera, Chris Spedding.
Third collaboration from Steven Wilson and Aviv Geffen. Mr. Geffen wrote all of the material except for one track. Musically speaking its a very different animal than Porcupine Tree. Its much more laid back with a heavy emphasis on orchestration.
"In an interesting artistic choice, the next full No-Man album to appear after Wild Opera was, in ways, the band's first. Originally surfacing as a self-released cassette in the late '80s, Speak was reissued in the late '90s in slightly different form.
In 1986 MTV discovered Peter Gabriel and he became massively popular. We were all "sledgehammered" to death and I think everyone burnt out on it a bit. Even still there are some great songs on this album - "In Your Eyes", his duet with Kate Bush "Don't Give Up", and "Mercy Street" as examples.
PG II marked an about face from the debut. The 1978 album was produced by Robert Fripp. His features his audio verite production technique that he was using at the time (see The Roches). Tony Levin was a linchpin for the band as well as Larry Fast.
The band's fifth album was a brilliant amalgam of Beatles influenced pop and classically influenced progressive rock. I still get a rise out of hearing "Fire On High". This remastered edition comes with five bonus tracks which are a bit dispensible alternate mixes.
