French neo-classical metal band with a twist - there is no vocalist. It's a bit unusual to hear an instrumental neoclassical band but these guys clearly worship at the altar of Yngwie Malmsteen, Symphony X and Adagio.

Second album from this interesting Danish band incorporating elements of thrash, death and even melodic metal in an usual way. Curiously enough this was created as a binaural recording and should be listened to with headphones. Recommended to fans of Meshuggah and Soilwork.

After releasing the under-rated Hour Of Joy for the now defunct Black Lotus label, this Dutch gothic metal band return with their second effort. If you are a fan of Mandylion-period The Gathering you'll have plenty to sink your teeth into here.

Funny observation...American prog rock fans prefer bands sing in their native tongue....American metal fans are just the opposite - they want to hear English vocals. This is the only explanation that I can think of that Manigance are not huge.

Latest from this Greek/German power metal band. Mystic Prophecy are heavier than most in the genre but are surprisingly melodic. The music takes on a thrash feel in spots but the excellent vocals of R.D. Liapakis always steers everything back to the melodic side.

"Germany's Mystic Prophecy certainly doesn't make fans wait an excessive amount of time for new material. 2011's Ravenlord is the band's seventh album in the just over 11 years since their formation.

Fifth album from this (apparently) popular power metal band from Romania. The band is fronted by Ana Mladinovici, who has a very nice voice albeit with a slight accent. She doesn't have the range of Tarja - her voice is more along the lines of Sabine Edelsbacher of Edenbridge.

Seventh studio album from this German power metal band. Mob Rules are a first class outfit that pretty much stick to the melodic power metal formula but they add just enough progressive touces to keep a progmetal fan like myself interested.

New lineup features ex-Riot vocalist Mike Dimeo as well as Rage drummer Mike Terrana. Surprisingly hook filled and melodic power metal. Not exactly my personal favorite style of metal but well executed. Recommended to the genre faithful.
Enhanced CD with one bonus video clip.

If Alan Holdsworth joined an insane technical death metal band from Sweden it might sound something like this.

"A swift visit to The Murder of My Sweet's website reveals that all of the band members all look about twelve years old which is really frightening and makes one wonder how young they were when they formed in Stockholm in 2006.
