Dance Of Magic/Dark Of Light
Before he became an RnB star in the second half of the 70s, Norman Connors had a formidible career as a drummer in the jazz/fusion world. He played with some serious kats and also had a series of excellent solo albums. Two of his best albums are Dance Of Magic and Dark Of Light. Released in 1972 and 1973 they featured a who's who from the jazz world: Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, Eddie Henderson, Gary Bartz, Cecil McBee, Carlos Garnett, Billy Hart, and Buster Williams. This release combines these two killer kosmigroov classics onto one disc at a budget price. The label makes note that this was transferred from the original analogue tapes for supreme fidelity. If you like spiritual jazz/kosmigroov/electric jazz you need to have this in your collection. Worth it just for the 21 minute Dance Of Magic title track. Highly recommended.
