There were three cornerstone prog bands from the Czech Republic: Blue Effect (later Modry Efekt), Jazz Q, and Collegium Musicum. Coniunctio is a 1970 release featuring a collaboration between members of Blue Effect and Jazz Q. Blue Effect was led by guitarist Radim Hladik.

Not to be confused with the metal band Compass, this Compass was a great one and done electric jazz ensemble that put out "Compass Rises" back in 1973. Some might call this jazz rock but while plugged in it really does lean more towards the jazz side.

Incredible one and done fusion band from Germany. PSI cut this album in 1978 right in the middle of an explosion of jazz rock/fusion bands in Germany. The standouts in the quintet are keyboardist Matthias Frey and guitarist Volkmar Zimmermann.

As many of you may (or may not) know I'm a crazy vinyl collector. A few years ago I picked up the buzz on this album by Argentinian composer/musician Luis Vecchio. So I paid a small fortune for the album and it blew me away.

While their later Lutello album veered heavily into the fusion direction with the addition of guitar, this earlier effort from 1977 was squarely in the electric jazz/jazz rock direction. Keyboardist Henryk Darlowski led the charge here playing off of the sax work of Wilson de Oliveira.
